The Kerala Development and Innovation Strategic Council (K-DISC) invites applications from BTech / MCA / MSc Computer Science / IT and related discipline students for an IT Developer Internship supporting the digital implementation of the STRIDE initiative under the Social Enterprises and Inclusion Department.

This internship offers hands-on exposure to full-stack development, web and application development, and technology solutions for inclusive and social innovation programs at a state level.

Position Overview

The IT Developer Intern will work closely with the STRIDE Program Team to design, develop, and maintain digital platforms, tools, and dashboards that support assistive technology programs, community engagement, and project monitoring. The role involves development support, testing, documentation, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

1. Application & Web Development

Assist in developing and maintaining web and/or mobile applications for STRIDE initiatives

Support front-end and back-end development tasks

Implement UI/UX designs with accessibility considerations

Debug, test, and optimize applications

2. System Support & Integration

Assist in integrating databases, APIs, and third-party tools

Support deployment, version control, and system maintenance

Ensure data security and basic performance standards

3. Documentation & Technical Reporting

Prepare technical documentation, user guides, and system workflows

Maintain code repositories and version histories

Assist in preparing technical reports and presentations

4. Accessibility & Inclusive Tech Support

Support development of low-tech and digital assistive solutions

Implement basic accessibility standards (WCAG, inclusive UI principles)

Assist in testing applications with diverse user needs

5. Research & Innovation Support

Conduct research on emerging technologies relevant to assistive tech and inclusion

Support prototyping and pilot implementations

Assist in benchmarking digital platforms and best practices

Required Qualifications

BTech / BSc / BCA / MCA / MSc Computer Science / IT (Pursuing or Completed)

Final-year students and recent graduates are encouraged to apply

In the absence of core CS/IT candidates, other engineering or science graduates with strong coding skills may be considered

Preferred Skills

Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript

Familiarity with Python / Java / PHP / Node.js / Flutter / React (any one or more)

Basic understanding of databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Firebase, etc.)

Exposure to Git/GitHub or similar version control systems

Interest in accessibility, assistive technology, or social impact projects
