Purpose of the Internship
The journalism internship under STRIDE is designed to document and amplify the voices, innovations, and impact stories emerging from the STRIDE initiative. It focuses particularly on the Makethon phase and the Mega Event scheduled for July 2025, with a strong emphasis on inclusive innovation and assistive technology.
Key Responsibilities
A. Content Creation & Documentation

Write human-interest stories and impact profiles of ideators, mentors, and beneficiaries (e.g., children from BUDs schools).

Draft event coverage articles (pre-event, live, and post-event) for STRIDE Makethon and Mega Event.

Produce write-ups for project showcases and prototype demonstrations.
B. Media & PR Coordination

Assist in preparing press notes, press releases, and media briefs in coordination with PRD and K-DISC.

Liaise with print, electronic, and digital media to ensure coverage of key STRIDE milestones.

Support in arranging interviews with STRIDE ideators, mentors, and stakeholders.
C. Social Media & Digital Outreach

Design engaging posts, reels, and stories for STRIDE’s official social media handles.

Schedule and manage real-time coverage of the Makethon and Mega Event.

Create content calendars and highlight threads featuring team progress and event snapshots.
D. Visual & Audio Storytelling
-
Capture photographs, videos, and testimonials from Makethon field visits, mentor sessions, and community connect activities.

Curate a 60–90 sec event highlight video and a 1-minute Instagram reel post-Mega Event.
E. Event Support

Cover 4–5 key STRIDE events including:

Zonal sessions during the Makethon

Mentor-ideator interactions
-
Field visits to BUDs schools
-
Final prototype demonstration day

STRIDE Mega Event in July

F. Documentation & Reporting
-
Prepare a STRIDE media documentation report by the end of the internship summarizing activities, media reach, and engagement metrics.

Maintain a log of published content (articles, social media posts, media mentions).
Deliverables

Minimum of 5 written articles (feature stories, event reports, or interviews)

At least 10 social media posts and 2 reels/videos

One consolidated end-of-internship documentation report

Press kit for the STRIDE Mega Event (including press note, fact sheet, and event brief)
