Description

FOSSEE invites applications for the Semester-long Internship 2025. The students get an opportunity to work with the FOSSEE team for one semester. This is a remote internship with continuous support and mentoring. To get shortlisted for the internship, Select a project and choose a screening task. Then you need to complete at least one of the screening tasks. The selection will be purely based on the evaluation criteria of each screening task.

Screening tasks under Osdag

  1. Animation Development for Steel Connections in Osdag Using Blender or Other FLOSS Tools

Osdag is a free and open-source software used for the design and detailing of steel structures such as buildings and bridges. We aim to create educational content for a course on steel structure design that includes using Osdag. This task involves creating animations and videos demonstrating the design and fabrication of steel connections.

Using Osdag, you will create 3D CAD models, export them in formats like STL, STEP, BREP, or IGS, and use Blender or other FLOSS tools to create animations. The resulting animations will illustrate real-world fabrication processes for steel connections. Successful completion of this task could lead to additional opportunities, such as a paid contract or internship, based on the quality of the work.

Rules and Regulations : Once the , Internship starts, every intern will be assessed every week based on the quality and quantity of the work. At any point, if the work is found unsatisfactory, the internship offer will be withdrawn. The content submitted for the screening task as well as the work done during the internship shall be released in open source. The decision of the FOSSEE team in declaring the results will be final. No queries in this regard will be entertained.
