Course Overview

This course introduces the basics of PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) systems and SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems. You will learn about the core components of a PLC, including the CPU, power supply, and signal modules. We’ll explore how a PLC works, covering input scanning, program execution, and output updates. The course also includes programming basics, using languages like Ladder Logic, Function Block Diagram, and Statement List. Key instructions such as AND, OR, and Set/Reset will be explained.

You’ll also learn about hardware configuration in STEP 7, how to manage timers and counters, and how to use symbol tables for more readable code. In the SCADA section, we’ll focus on SIMATIC WinCC for real-time process monitoring. You’ll learn to create projects, configure connections with PLCs, and design human-machine interfaces (HMI). We’ll also cover alarm logging, data archiving, and report generation. By the end of the course, you will have practical knowledge of both PLC and SCADA systems for industrial automation.
