St. Mary’s College was established in 1946 in Thrissur, Kerala as the first Women’s College of the district with the aim of uplifting the women of Kerala by empowering them through education. At the time of its inception, the College was affiliated to Madras University, later to Kerala University and finally, in 1968 it was affiliated to University of Calicut.
